1964 Triumph TR4 CT26999L
Macy's
Garage
A Family Tradition Since
1932
My wife Tonda
saw this car for sale, and decided that she couldn't wait for her other TR4 to
be restored. (Those of you with wives who could care less about cars....be
careful what you wish for!)
Unfortunately, this car didn't look as good on the bottom as it
did on the top. At some time in the past, a dreaded previous owner (DPO)
or unscrupulous body shop applied metal patches in an amateur manner over the badly
rusted original floors. Check out the 'How To' section of
this site for a pictorial review of the work needed to replace the floors (and
frame) of this car in the
correct manner.
The project was completed at 2PM on Sunday, and we left for VTR Rockford at
9AM the next morning with only 50 "test" miles on the car. It performed
flawlessly for the entire 900 mile trip to Rockford and back.
I removed the hardtop and installed a new white Robbins
convertible top in January of 2006. The hardtop will eventually be installed on our
1962 TR4 CT611L (when that car rises to the top of my priority list and is
properly restored).

This car was sold in April, 2006, and is now being driven by its
new owner in Mt. Kisco, NY.
